Why online sellers outgrow general bookkeeping

Marketplace payouts are not bank deposits, and your bookkeeper should know the difference.

The usual arrangement

  • A generalist bookkeeper who prices by transaction volume, so busy months cost more.
  • Marketplace payouts that do not match orders, with fees and returns buried inside.
  • VAT201 prepared in a rush near the deadline, with you hoping the figures hold.
  • Books that are months behind when you need to make a stock or hiring decision.

With Cartledger

  • One flat monthly fee, agreed up front.
  • Every channel reconciled: Shopify, WooCommerce, Takealot and Amazon.
  • VAT201 filed on time, from books that are already reconciled.
  • Clean monthly numbers you can read and act on.

What the flat fee covers

Built only for online sellers

Questions owners ask

Before you hand over your books

Which sales channels do you handle?

Shopify, WooCommerce, Takealot and Amazon. If you sell on more than one, we reconcile each channel separately and combine them into one set of books.

How is the fee set?

It is a flat monthly fee, agreed after you tell us which channels you sell on. It does not rise and fall with your transaction count.

Do you file my VAT201?

Yes. VAT201 filing is part of the monthly service, prepared from books that are already reconciled.

I am not VAT-registered yet. Is that a problem?

No. If you are approaching the registration threshold, tell us and we will help you get your books ready for registration.

Why not use a general bookkeeper?

A general bookkeeper can do the job, but marketplace payouts bundle sales, fees and returns together, and they take specific experience to untangle. That is all we do.
